referring to the title above, what exactly yang bikin my jiwa kacau ni?
owh no, no, this is not something about love or anything near to love.
my jiwa is kacau because of this one theory.
Big Bang Theory.
eh not the TV show la. the 'real' Big Bang Theory.
owh by the way that series is kinda nice.
anyway.
i came across this one ayat in..alamak terlupa ayat berapa. but it goes like this:
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?"
i have no sort of objection watsoever regarding the portion that states 'the life is made from water' thingy. but i kind of skeptical about the ayat 'Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder?' tu. of course la i'm not being skeptical with the ayat itself, but rather on how people interpret that ayat.
we know that living things are made from cell, cell plak memang banyak air, so it makes sense ok fine full stop. the point is, that portion of ayat is making sense because it is at par with the scientific fact that we know nowadays thanks to all scientific research and stuff.
and then, we all muslims go like, 'owh yeah, you see, there are scientific facts in the Quran you know, which confirmed that Quran is a compilation of words from God, because thousand of years ago there's no way ade orang yang boleh tau that kinda fact without the help of canggih manggih punye technology and research.'
i have no problem with that.
but last week, i found this video (actually, a hell lot of videos) showing some stuff about the scientific facts in the Quran. I personally am interested in this kinda stuff, this stuff is alluring really, i found that there's no other subject that is more..'magical' and amusing than the Holy Quran. seriously.
but engaging ourselves in a debate to prove that Quran is correct because there are scientifically proven scientific facts in it, is DAMAGING.
seriously.
i mean, Quran IS correct as the way it is, why are we struggling so much to show that, 'there are scientific facts in the Quran, so it is correct?'
back to my point of that quoted ayat. this ayat, according to some scholars, is referring to Big Bang Theory, a well known theory about the birth of the universe. for more information about Big Bang Theory, make full use of Encik Google and Abang Wikipedia. or kalau you lagi rajin, go to the library, bukak buku. you'll find lots of cool stuff, tak rugi punye.
actually i kinda follow jugak la this development of 'Islam and Big Bang Theory' ni. mula2, we said that, 'owh, this ayat is actually referring to the Big Bang theory.' then came la this one group claiming something like 'owh, the heaven and earth were not joined together, they were actually separated from the start, hence Quran is wrong.' then Muslims pon struggle la debating itu debating ini, saying that, 'no, no, Quran is right, that theory is wrong', and have the whole world laughing at us. like, 'you see that? how extreme the Muslims are? they even rejecting the knowledge found using high-tech equipments just because they believe in their old book'.
and now, we know that the heaven and earth were indeed joined together as one unit of creation (which is scientificallly called 'singularity' if i'm not mistaken) and we all go, 'haha, so you see, sape yang salah skarang? in the end, Quran won, scientists lost.' and of course, we continue to use this 'scientific fact' mentioned in the Quran to prove the authenticity of Quran.
and now, ade la beberapa group of scientiest punye latest foundings, they actually found that there might be a possibility where the theory itself is COMPLETELY WRONG, where the whole concept of the birth of the universe is not actually came from a point of singularity but something else. something like they found some plasmas connecting the two old stars in the universe, something like that. i dont want to indulge myself in details about the whole new concept, as it is not the main point that i want to talk about.
my point is, why are we muslims struggling to prove that that ayat is referring to the Big Bang theory, and we are so confident that IT IS ABOUT BIG BANG?
first thing first, WE HUMAN interpreted the ayat according to our own 'humanly' understanding. for the arabians thousand of years ago, they heard this ayat with not a single idea about the Big Bang theory in their head, because at that time, the theory was not even existed yet, and yet they have not a single problem with that.
and now, we had established a theory about the birth of the universe, which coincidentally matching up with that particular ayat in the Quran. so we claimed that 'this ayat IS about Big Bang theory.'
have we ever actually stop and think for a while, 'what if it is NOT about the Big Bang Theory?'
what if that ayat referring to something else, something we dont know of yet, that have NOTHING to do with the Big Bang theory?
honestly, the way we claimed it, as if we are 100% sure, konpem punye, that ayat is about Big Bang. my point is, who the hell are we? who are we to claim such thing like 'yes it is about Big Bang', while the only one who knows what actually that ayat is all about is Allah, the Almighty God, the All Knowing?
we act like we know everything, and even struggle to prove that that ayat is about Big Bang. somehow, it seems like we are trying to prove the Big Bang theory is correct because it is mentioned in the Quran!
and the funny thing is, for God sake, Big Bang is a THEORY, it is not even an established fact. it has many flaws, not 100% correct, even Albert Einstein was in doubt with this theory.
so, why the hell are we muslims trying to prove that this theory is correct because it is mentioned in the Quran, and Quran is correct because it mentioned Big Bang theory in one of its surahs, when everybody knows that Big Bang theory is not even 100% scientifically proven as correct?
it seems like, we believe in Big Bang theory more than we believe in the Quran!
we believe that Heaven and Earth were joined together in one unit of creation, and then were separated later on. enough said. what's so hard about it bro? why do we have to relate this ayat with something else that sounds 'scientific'?
i have came across NO VIDEO that mentioned, 'this ayat might be referring to Big Bang theory'. i repeat, NONE. all the videos and articles that i found, most of them saying the same line that goes like, 'this ayat tells us about the heaven and earth were joined together and then were separated later on, which REFER TO the Big Bang theory.'
can you see the difference in both lines? the first line saying that 'it might be', which means, that ayat might be referring to the Big Bang theory, and might be not. which i have no problem with that.
but the 2nd line (which had been used EXTENSIVELY IN ALL VIDEOS AND ARTICLES AVAILABLE IN THE WORLD) saying that 'it is referring to Big Bang theory.'
ahh. how easy. senang je kite quote an ayat from the Quran and use it like we know everything that lies in the heaven and the earth.
the difference in both lines cuma satu perkataan je: might. or 'mungkin'.
but the impact of that word itself is HUGE.
and how many of we muslims who have already been brainwashed by this theory?
how many of us had actually 100% believe that the Big Bang theory is correct, the ayat in the Quran is really referring to the Big Bang theory, and simply use it in our preach or in our effort to try to impress the non-muslims about the holiness of our Quran?
dont get me wrong. i'm not blaming the theory for all that had happened. i didn't say that the theory is wrong. hell, i know nothing about the birth of the universe to begin with, and up until now, this theory is, so far, the most acceptable theory la compare to others.
but it is just a theory. a theory is subject to change. it is not 'unchangeable'.
but Quran is correct and unchangeable. dulu, kini dan selamanya.
what if in the future, it may be scientifically proven pulak that the Big Bang theory is actually wrong, and the whole concept collapse just like that? are we muslims going to take back our words, and saying something like, 'owh, actually, that ayat is referring to something else which we dont know of yet', or choose to behave like an idiot, rejecting all the scientific research (which we are so proud of before) and say, 'no! Big Bang theory is correct! the scientists are all wrong!! wrongggggggggggggggg' and have all in the whole world, including Eskimos and polar bears, laughing at us?
please, muslims. don't make fool of yourselves. you're more than that.
i have no objection in using scientific facts in the Quran as a medium to attract the non-muslims or even muslims in our effort of dakwah. i love those scientific facts as well. they are really, really cool, no doubt about that. but just use our head for a while, think before we speak, dont simply use everything that have been spoon-feeded into our mouth and blindly claiming this and that without even knowing what are we talking about.
just leave that ayat and the Big Bang theory alone. we don't have to fuse them together. or if we want to stimulate a good discussion, just use it together with the word 'might' or 'mungkin'. because if we still have not notice it yet, guess what, Quran is a Holy Book, it is not a science text book!
you might claim that, 'what's so wrong about using this Big Bang theory in our dakwah? there's no harm as long as they can accept it, or actually amused by it, as long as our dakwah jalan, ok la tu. why are you making things so complicated?'
but remember, dakwah is about guiding people towards the truth. what is there 'so true' about telling people something that is not even 100% true? do you think it is a good start for our dakwah?
be wise, be nice.
